I have many fun and wonderful memories of "Hap" when he was my boss at the Butte County Veterans Service Office in Oroville/Chico. He was a very caring man and so helpful to all veterans, anytime, anywhere. One thing Hap said I never forgot: One of the Work-Study students had made a mistake on form 4138, and Hap said, 'If ya ain't makin mistakes, ya ain't workin, and it's not a mistake until you refuse to correct it'. I have used this saying many times during my career. I'm sure Hap has a full scholarship ride on Heaven's Cloud of his choice. You will always be remembered. Hugs to the family. Fondly Paula
